Annual Bluegrass
The annual bluegrass is found all over the world. The small tufted to clumped winter annual is characterized by following traits:
• Smooth leaf blade surfaces (both sides)
• Two distinct lines, one on each side of the midrib
• Keeled or boat-shaped leaf tip
• Light green to whitish spikelets without cottony hairs
• Arranged in branches in dense to open flower clusters
• Features ligules, or membrane-like tissues, typically found in grasses at the junction of the sheath and the blade
